Roof cleaning with the windows open?

With Cox Novum’s new greenhouse roof cleaner V-PowerWasher, you will now also be able to wash the greenhouse roof while the windows are open. The company developed the machine several years ago, and nowadays are seeing their V-shaped machine clean quite some hectares of greenhouse year round.

The V-PowerWasher was developed for a group of growers who were looking for a new way to properly maintain the greenhouse. Jeroen Jansen from Cox Novum: "The name comes from the V-shape. Thanks to its shape, the machine can run through the gutter and clean the windows on both sides of it. As a result, it doesn’t have to hang over a ridge and can continue cleaning in all kinds of weather."

Most growers know that from April to September the light output is greatest and it is very important to have crystal clear windows. "But it is also the time that a lot of ventilation is needed. For this reason the machine has patented brush arms of different lengths. The short arm can be used when the windows are open, the long arm cleans the roof on the other side. This way you can use the vents during the washing and clean year round. With 1% more light resulting in 1% more yield, this is an important point for many growers."

The V-PowerWasher is being used by almost twenty growers. The machine can be controlled from a PC, tablet or smartphone and also cleans the gutter with high pressure spraying nozzles at the front and back. "To avoid having to start over after a rainstorm by muck that has splashed up from the gutter."
