Governor of the Belgorod region, Evgeny Savchenko, has approved a project that will see construction of the region's largest greenhouse facility.

The first stage of the project is scheduled to be completed by autumn of 2017. The greenhouses will cover a total area of 24 hectares, where at least 19,000 tons of vegetables will be produced annually. The construction work will be completed by the year 2020, as a result of which the greenhouses will be expanded up to 108 hectares.

The project, in which 6 billion rubles (92 million USD) will be invested, is expected to create 400 new jobs.
