e-GRO University:

Online training opportunities for greenhouse and nursery growers

July 2016 has brought temperatures in the 90s and 100s across the United States. Greenhouse growers that want to beat the heat can do so by exploring numerous online training materials this summer.

Michigan State University Extension recommends growers subscribe to the many resources e-GRO offers: alerts (articles), videos, webinars, e-books and research reports from the e-GRO team.

MSU points out 57 free videos available through e-GRO University and those available through e-GRO on YouTube. These videos are categorized by greenhouse management, growth management, nutrient management, insects and mites, and diseases.

Growers can also increase their productivity, knowledge and skills with the four-week certificate courses from University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences. These courses are completely online and taught by university professors in English and Spanish. The following intermediate courses are being offered by the University of Florida: Nutrient Management 1, Disease Management, and Weed Management. There is one advanced course (Nutrient Management 2) that will be offered late August through September.
