UK: Levity CropScience launch soft fruit range at Fruit Focus
Levity CropScience Ltd is launching a set of revolutionary products to help soft fruit farmers at this year's Fruit Focus event.
Levity MD David Marks said “Levity are putting crop science at the heart of our product development. Our expertise is in understanding how plants use their food to grow, and then adapting the inputs so that the crop gets better use from it. It allows us to use very low inputs whilst achieving better results” he explained “Our approach is to talk to growers, understand the challenges they face and then go back to the lab and create products that can help them. We consulted with soft fruit growers around the world and identified four key challenges that were poorly addressed by the fertilizer and agchem industry. 1. Shelf Life, 2. Maturity, 3. Increasing yield without reducing quality, and 4. Stress.”
David added “The resulting range is the result of several years of intensive development and testing by our team of Crop Scientists, and we are really looking forwards to meeting growers at Fruit Focus so we can explain the science behind them. Our job is to understand how science can help farmers, and deliver them easy to use products that solve their problems”
The products being launched are:
Albina – For improving shelf life, firmness, and hardiness
Sulis – For improvement of colour and brix
Lono – To increase fruit yield and quality
Indra – To protect the crop against stressful growing conditions
Levity MD Anna Weston said “We are really proud of this range, it takes fertiliser inputs to a new level. By properly taking the time to understand the crop, we have created very low input products that solve soft-fruit problems and allow farmers to produce top quality and yield.” Adding “our scientists will be available at Fruit Focus to meet with growers and explain how these products work and what they can do for them. This is the first time that products for soft fruit have been built from a proper understanding of the crop, and fruit growers will be very happy with the results”.
