Tesco launches “Try before you buy” stands for fruit and veg
Tesco has launched the "Try Before You Buy" initiative. Since 6 June, customers visiting any of its hypermarkets will have the chance to try the products on special stands.
The motivation for this is the result of a study conducted by the research company TNS, which showed that 72 percent of consumers like to carefully check and test what they are buying.
"With the new service, customers in more than 340 Tesco stores in Europe will be able to make purchasing decisions based not only on the appearance of the product, but also on its taste and quality," stresses Adrienn Kurucz, Director of Innovation for Central Europe.
In Poland, the special stands used to display and taste vegetables and fruits will be set up in 80 stores. At the stands, specially trained employees will provide information about the products on offer.
The "Try Before You Buy" stands are new to the market; it is a simple way to allow customers to find out about the quality and taste of what they would like to buy," says Kurucz.
