US: Webinar on organic recordkeeping for growers

Join CCOF and the Farmer Veteran Coalition (FVC) on June 2 for a webinar on recordkeeping for organic growers.

Learn processes to make on-farm organic recordkeeping easier, as well as a framework to assist you in developing a recordkeeping system for your operation that maintains the records needed for organic certification. This webinar is ideal for growers looking to improve their recordkeeping infrastructure, growers new to organic certification, or growers interested in becoming certified organic.

Accurate recordkeeping can be an obstacle for growers who are committed to organic practices but don’t have sound infrastructure in place to track their organic products. This webinar will provide a framework to help you develop a unique recordkeeping system for your operation that meets the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) regulations for certified organic crop production. It will include examples of forms and templates to make the on-farm portion of your recordkeeping easier and more complete, as well as real-life examples from FVC’s Aaron Magill, an Army veteran and former organic sweet potato and almond farmer. Thea Rittenhouse, organic farmer and Sustainable Agriculture Specialist at the National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT), will review the recordkeeping requirements for organic certification.
