UK: Seminar on Groceries Code Adjudicator

The seminar "Priorities for the UK food supply chain and for the Groceries Code Adjudicator" will provide an opportunity to consider priorities for the food supply chain and for the Groceries Code Adjudicator.

Planned sessions assess the next steps for ensuring integrity and assurance in the food chain - following the Government-commissioned review into the integrity and assurance of food supply networks, how best to ensure a fair price for suppliers to large supermarkets - including discussion around building supplier confidence - and what more can be done to improve awareness and compliance of the Groceries Supply Code of Practice - and how retailers, processors and consumer choice impact farmgate prices - in light of EFRA Committee’s inquiry into falling farmgate prices.

Further sessions will focus on the wider challenges facing the supply chain including securing a safe food supply chain, the challenges of reducing food fraud and best practice in enabling the industry to develop sustainably.
