Turkey: Hamza Kelez invest in local production for Siirt province

Turkey’s biggest producer of certified peanut saplings, Hamza Keles, is the owner of the second biggest greenhouse complex in Siirt, a province in southeastern Turkey. Four years ago, Keles realized these 12 acres of greenhouses built for the cultivation of organic vegetables.

To meet the region’s demand for vegetables with organic products, Keles now established the region’s second largest greenhouse in the region at a cost of 1.35 million lira. The vegetables produced should put an end to importing products from outside the region and the produced products will also be sold outside the province.

He aims to harvest between 5-6 tons of fresh produce from the greenhouse in a season and plans to employ between 45-50 people.
