"US (FL): "Medical marijuana likely to pass this time"

It will probably take a few more elections, and maybe another petition-initiative constitutional amendment, but does anyone still doubt that Florida will eventually join states like Washington and Colorado that have legalized marijuana?

Not just medicinal pot smoking. That’s already on the November ballot, and likely to pass this time. The Legislature took a second baby step toward helping terribly ill patients seeking relief from debilitating side effects this week. Proponents of the constitutional amendment allowing doctors to prescribe full-strength pot called the bill now on Gov. Rick Scott’s desk “lipstick on a pig,” but it does indicate some further acceptance of the drug.
