Ohio veg for White House state dinner

On Thursday 10 March, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife, Sophie GrĂ©goire Trudeau, dined at the White House; their first course featured vegetables from an Ohio farm, although the specific farm's name was not announced.

What the White House did say, however, is that the first course at the much-heralded dinner consisted of a baked Alaskan halibut dish "with delicate angel hair asparagus, chanterelles and spring onion from a farm in Ohio, and finished with herbed butter sourced from Mrs. Obama's White House Kitchen Garden."

The exclusive event, hosted by President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, was the first state dinner for a Canadian prime minister in 19 years.
