Plans of Dutch growers in the lift again

According to figures from Statistics Netherlands more permits were issued for new greenhouse structures in Holland in 2015 than in 2014. In 2015, building permits were issued for more than 50 hectares of new greenhouses. In 2014 this figure was 23.5 hectares.


Acreage permits per 1000m2

The number of granted permits rose slightly. While in 2014 there was a record low of only 34, there were 40 in 2015. By comparison: 328 building permits were issued in 2000 and in 2007 there were still 226. After that a quick decline followed to 142 in 2008. Since 2006 the figure has fluctuated extremely due to the crisis
