Italy: UT Instruments, fruit goes through Bluetooth now

After its important and international launch during the 2016 edition of Fruit Logistica, UT Instruments officially starts its operations. This is a strategic partnership between Unitec, leading company in the sector of machines, plants and lines for fruit and vegetables processing, and TR Turoni, specializing in scientific instruments for the agricultural sector.

This new society combines the experience and the expertise of both companies and aims at developing cutting-edge technological devices to measure the most important qualitative parameters of fruit along the whole production chain.

This means smart and reliable instruments, starting from one quick insight: to join instruments portability with data transfer through Bluetooth. In other words, starting from today measuring of fruit size and ripeness degree, just like firmness, pulp temperature and sugar level as well, can be transferred on one database, bearing undoubted advantages. First of all, marked savings of time and a sharp increase of data reliability, avoiding any mistake due to manual transcription or data transferring from one device to another.

Thanks to the solutions offered by UT instruments, benefits will then be distributed along the whole production chain: pack-houses will be able to sample produce correctly to supply retail and wholesale markets; these markets will then be able to offer to their customers consistent quality with every supply, without product wastage.

"We have known and cooperated with Unitec for years, also sharing an international path as Cermac" says Enrico Turoni, owner of TR. "From the dialogue on some priority issues, such as the consistent quality which President Angelo Benedetti stands for and pursues, I can say we definitely are on the same page. Even more, it is precisely from this concept that the idea of joining forces to guarantee a high qualitative level at all stages of the supply chain was born".

"We offer innovative systems to enable the players of the sector to optimize their processing lines, enhancing at the same time quality and efficiency of their processes" reinforces Unitec President Angelo Benedetti. "Consequently, these solutions generate both savings in terms of costs and resources and advantages for the whole supply chain. We want to help the players to build reliable relationships, starting from the field, through the packing house, to the large-scale retail trade."

The proper sales activity will begin by the end of March.
