Canada: first aquaponics producer of medical marijuana licensed
The commercial aquaponics facility was the brainchild of Lyn Bravo, a landscape architecture graduate of the University of Guelph. Lyn's husband Warren Bravo and his business partner, Steve LeBlanc, founded medical marijuana company, Green Relief Inc. "We are elated with the approval from Health Canada", stated Warren Bravo. Green Relief Inc. is now a licensed producer of medical cannabis under the Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations (Canada) issued pursuant to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (Canada) (the "MMPR").
The facility is housed in a recently completed earth-sheltered green-roof building with controlled environment grow rooms, hybrid LED lighting and sophisticated aquaponics equipment.
The Green Relief team plans to offer a completely different customer experience by providing the purest "better than organic" cannabis in the world. Built on a platform of advocacy for natural wellness and healing, sustainability and exceptional quality, they are dedicated to advancing the science of aquaponics agriculture and medical cannabis.
Plans for aggressive growth with an expansion into a second building of 210,000 square feet are already in the works. The new facility includes a research and development laboratory as well as facilities for plant tissue culture and cannabis oil production.
