UK: Soil Farmer (or Grower!) of the year competition

As organic growers we know just how important soils are to our businesses and society's prosperity. We all have to manage our soils sustainably in order to get organic certification. But how much do we really do to excel in our soil management?

Well if you think you are doing so then enter this new competition to find the UK's Soil Farmer (or Grower!) of the Year. As the International Year of the Soil draws to an end, the Farm Carbon Cutting Toolkit (FCCT) and Innovation for Agriculture are launching this challenge on World Soils Day, 5th December.

The aim is to find farmers and growers who are engaged with and passionate about managing their soils in a way which produces quality food, builds above and below ground biodiversity, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and builds soils organic matter.
