Spain: Huelva's strawberries finding their place in Asia

The strawberry production from the Spanish province of Huelva has managed to enter the Asian market with two varieties that have shown increased resistance: the Primoris and Rabida; shipments of these varieties in the previous campaign already reached five tonnes.

This was reported by sources from the company Moguer Agromolinillo, which has managed to find customers in countries like China by introducing a strawberry variety "that has a longer shelf life and keeps its properties despite the long journey."

The shipment is done by air, quite unlike the road transport traditionally used for Huelva's strawberries.

The company has managed to successfully market an early variety called Fortuna, which is planted in early September and yields its first results in November, allowing it to start being marketed a few days ago on the domestic market, especially in Madrid and Barcelona. Its expansion will start this week with its shipment to countries like France or Germany.
