Israel: 'Palestinian viper' found in supermarket lettuce

An Israeli woman shopping for groceries discovered a shocking surprise when she realized a bundle of lettuce contained a young poisonous viper.

A photo of the snake, taken by Tel Aviv resident Tzila (fake name), spread quickly on social media overnight, a month after she went shopping for groceries at the supermarket chain's store in Petah Tikvah.

"I entered one of the chain's smaller locations with my son in order to buy him something to eat," Tzila told Ynet. "Someone called me over and asked me if I saw something strange in the lettuce. I immediately realized that it was a snake," Tzila told Ynet.
