US (IN): Dow AgroSciences sale possible

Dow AgroSciences could be on the sale block again. Dow Chemical said Thursday it's looking at a possible sale of its Indianapolis-based ag chemical and seed business.

The potential sale comes as the ag chemical industry continues to consolidate.

Dow AgroSciences, once partly owned by Eli Lilly and Co., is headquartered at Zionsville Road and 96th Street, where it keeps an array of greenhouses to test crop-protecting chemicals against diseases and insects.

Its Midland, Mich.-based parent said that it's looking at the potential sale as part of its "unrelenting focus on shareholder value and returning cash to shareholders."
