US (TX): Proposed greenhouse coming soon to Pottsboro High School

The high school agricultural program in Pottsboro will add a greenhouse to its activities in the not-too-distant future. The Pottsboro Independent School District board of trustees recently approved the proposed greenhouse at its meeting Monday. So far the greenhouse is set to be at the north side of the current agricultural shop near Pottsboro High School.

Superintendent Kevin Matthews said the greenhouse will allow the program to add some additional courses, such as plant and soil development. He also said it would be useful for students to learn about business by possibly selling the plants they grow back to the community or other greenhouses.

“This is a new concept for us; it’s definitely an innovative idea,” Matthews said. “… It just allows the kids to experience the whole cycle of the agricultural program.”
