"Ducovery: "Big Beef, Big Yield"
Features
Ducovery, De Ruiters newcomer to beef tomato segment weighs between 250 and 260 grams. The resistance codes are: HR ToMV: 0-2 / Ff.AE / Fol: 0,1 and IR On. Very characteristic of Duco is a vigorous and well-organized crop with a very high production.
Hooymans followed the trials from fellow growers closely. "We are looking for a breed that scores at least 70% in the grading between 8.2 and 10.2 centimeters - the 3 x B Class. Ducovery should certainly succeed! In tests we saw a grower with large sized tomatoes. I think we will go a little smaller to achieve optimal quality."

Why Ducovery
The grower chose amongst other reasons, for Ducovery's resistance to powdery mildew. This saves a great deal of time and money compared with the old situation. Another advantage of this variety is that it is much easier to harvest.
In addition, the grower had problems with shoots with his previous variety; many plants gave a single shoot, instead of two. That can be solved by grafting one on one, but it is a expensive method. Ducovery is top grafted on the rootstock Maxifort. Top grafting is a cheap and easy method. The crop will give fruit quickly and of a good quality. Hooymans starts late October with sowing and expects the first bloom in mid-January.
