Belgian tomato acreage with artificial lighting increases 70%

The acreage with tomatoes under artificial lighting will increase by 70% to a total of 36ha at the cooperative BelOrta. "In the winter period BelOrta will continue to provide tomatoes. This is our response to the demand from the trade for a continuous supply of fresh and locally produced first class product."

BelOrta producers engage themselves with providing the market with Flandria tomatoes year-round.
