CultivAPP begins its internationalization in Kenya

Inventia Agrárica, a company located in the Science and Technology Park of Almería (PITA) has launched its CultivAPP application on the international market. The application is available for Android and iOS and can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple Store and Google Play. This is a farm management tool which already has more than 5,000 downloads and 3,500 active users. After its launch in Spain, this Almería company has released its tool in Kenya with specific pesticides databases for the country. Soon the application will be available for download in other countries such as Mexico, Israel, Netherlands, Brazil, India and the US. CultivAPP is free for individual farmers. In the case of agribusiness companies and agricultural technicians, the purchase of a commercial license is required. This license can be obtained by email, contacting info@cultivapp.com

The application is designed to help professionals and agrifood businesses to effectively manage their farms. From a smartphone or tablet the user can record all their activities on their farms and crops in real time; access comprehensive, updated and reliable database of legal pesticides and fertilizers, safety periods, recommendations, etc.; as well as have a direct channel of communication with different stakeholders through a chat; get help for managing their schedule or daily activities; and link the application with a web portal of cooperatives and agricultural technicians.

Thus, CultivAPP allows the user to manage and store all information about the farm. Through the Field Register the user can note all daily activities (sowing, harvesting, irrigation, fertilizers, …), manage crops, control plots; manage the campaign; and automatically generate the Field Notebook, which is mandatory for all farmers. The application offers the opportunity to communicate with technicians and other farmers through a CultiChat. In this section the user can send and receive photos quickly and easily.

CultivAPP also has a powerful Geographic Information System (GIS (SIG in Spanish)) called CultiSIG, which is fed with real-time data directly from the farms, through the application. Managers and technicians can now have a privileged overlook of the current activity of their company, and obtain useful visualizations that can help them in the decision making process.

With CultiSIG, a plot where activities are carried out can be located geographically, and a variety of queries can be made. For example, they can find out where a specific crop is planted, and the complete list of phytosanitary treatments and fertilizers applied in a given period of time. With this system it is easy to visualize different parameters such as performance of the plots, which plots are in quarantine after phytosanitary treatments, different plagues and diseases affecting the farms, among others.
