AU: Yarra Valley’s Lakeside Flowers at Monbulk fields success

Business is blooming at the Yarra Valley’s Lakeside Flowers with the festive season marking the farm’s most frantic time of year.

Shayne Broekhof, who co-owns the Monbulk cut flower farm with her sister-in-law Emma Comfort, said they were busy picking, bunching and selling to meet the upswing in demand brought on by summer, Christmas, weddings and school holidays.

The farm was founded about 50 years ago by Ms Broekhof’s grandparents with a small roadside stall.

Today, it is a successful retail and wholesale operation that also provides floristry services.
