Spanish horticultural sector to be present at the IPM Essen

In 2015, Spain will be the partner country of the International Horticultural Forum at IPM ESSEN. Within the framework of this podium event, sectoral representatives from Spain will present the horticultural sector in their country. The Forum will take place at 2.00 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the stand of INDEGA, hall 3.

In view of the tense economic situation in the Spanish horticultural sector, it is perhaps a somewhat surprising decision to examine the country's horticultural production in the Foreign Forum. Most businesses are lacking in the funds for far-reaching investments. However, it is also a fact that Spain has good climatic prerequisites and a good infrastructure for production and marketing. Spain too is currently introducing and supporting new developments in horticulture. This is being accompanied by higher technical standards and the corresponding need for equipment for outdoor and protected cultivation. The great interest in German technology and in German partners has been confirmed in preparatory discussions with Spanish sectoral representatives. For the German horticultural industry, the increasing degree of mechanization in the production of vegetables and ornamental plants is offering starting points for business relations.

The International Horticultural Forum will be staged as an open podium discussion during which the listeners will, after brief statements made by the speakers, be able to ask questions and to play their own part.
