Organized by Hoogendoorn, Svensson & LetsGrow.com:

Free webinar for international crop advisors

Hoogendoorn, Svensson & LetsGrow.com have created an online training course to share international knowledge with crop advisors

One of the key points within horticulture is crop optimization. The Netherlands is leading when it comes to innovative techniques. With the aim of sharing these techniques with other international crop advisors, LetsGrow.com, Hoogendoorn Growth Management and Ludvig Svensson have joined forces. Following a series of successful workshops, the decision was made to organize a webinar, bridging long distances and reaching crop advisors worldwide. The free webinar will be held on 15 January 2015 at two different times: 9 am and 3 pm (Central European Time).

In recent years, Hoogendoorn, Svensson and LetsGrow.com have developed new technologies for crop registration, climate monitoring, screen techniques and climate regulation. It is an ongoing process. With a view to addressing the growing international demand for cultivation knowledge, these three parties decided to share their technical expertise with crop advisors worldwide and to share with them their practical experience.

During the webinar, Christiaan Posthumus Meyjes from LetsGrow.com will talk about the options for climate analysis via their data platform. René Beerkens from Hoogendoorn Growth Management will talk about the most recent climate regulation techniques and about energy saving. Ton Habraken from Ludvig Svensson will go into detail about light transmission with climate screening, greenhouse dehumidification and the influence of the use of double climate screening. This knowledge transfer will be given in the form of a webinar, so that crop advisors worldwide can participate from wherever they are in the world, helping them to gain an advantage in the innovation of greenhouse growing.

Knowledge sharing is a must

Mr. Lankester, director and manager of Technology and Innovation at Agro AdviesBuro, was one of those present at the workshop on 22 September: “The OVTO (Organization of Agricultural Advisors and Researchers) wants to proactively establish itself as a industry level knowledge-based institution, as does Agro AdviesBuro, within the agricultural industry and to contribute to the creation and content of concrete developments, indicators and techniques in sustainability. Knowledge about the technical feasibility and application of innovations is therefore crucial. Knowledge exchange about the latest development, such as in energy saving, is a vital necessity for us. It was a very information session.”
