Australia: Tools for Transition workshop a lesson from the experts

Planning for the future was the focus of a horticulture industry seminar at Tatura yesterday.

More than 50 members of the horticulture industry attended a Department of Environment and Primary Induustries “Tools for Transition” workshop at the Horticulture Centre of Excellence.

The centre was launched on October 2 by the then Minister for Agriculture and Food Security Peter Walsh.

HCOE business development manager Peter Hansford said is designed to become a critical partner in the transformation of the Victorian horticulture industry into a more profitable, businesslike and export focused sector through the sharing of knowledge and the integration of research development and extension.

“The HCOE is building on the traditional research activities to become a leader in industry development,” Mr Hansford said.
