Canada (ON): Grimsby greenhouse fire causes $200K damage

It took fire crews about 90 minutes to get control of a fire in a Grimsby greenhouse Saturday afternoon.

Crews from Lincoln, West Lincoln and Grimsby fire departments were called to the facility at 585 Sobie Rd. E. just before 3:30 p.m.

Sixteen fire units responded, as crews called for more water tankers and manpower to battle the stubborn blaze.

The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate what local fire officials call a suspicious fire.

No injuries were reported.

Niagara police are holding the scene pending an investigation, but could offer no further information.

Damage is estimated at $200,000.
