Russia to start exporting to UAE

The agricultural complex Churilovo will not only continue providing its region with Vegetables, but it will soon begin exporting products to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), according to a report published by the web portal Chel.dk.ru.

"The cost of shipping Cucumbers to the Emirates by plane is about 40 rubles per kilogram, and the price to ship them in the summer increases to 30 rubles per kilogram. Meanwhile, in the Emirates, this Vegetable is being sold at 300 rubles per kilogram. It produces a good margin," the General Director of Churilovo, Sergey Chigintsev said.

Chigintsev also said that talks with the UAE were difficult because the Fruit and Vegetable market in the country is held by Indian suppliers. At first the Arab counterparts did not want to purchase Russian Cucumbers, but after tasting them, they changed their minds about the Vegetables.

The advantages of working with the UAE is the country's tax-free system, under which customs only takes an hour to pass through, Chigintsev said.

"We have only been able to dream of this. The plane comes, and after 1.5 hours you can unload your products," he said.

In addition to the UAE market, Chinese importers are also interested in the enterprises products.

"They form the middle layer that does not want to eat their cheap Vegetables, because who knows with which technologies they use in production," Chigintsev said.
