The Colombian horticultural sector is currently facing great challenges. The national economy is flourishing, but costs are rising. Land prices are soaring and the Peso is very strong against the USD. Dutch knowledge and technology can help to face these challenges by improving the efficiency (less labour input) and productivity per m2 of horticultural producers. However, bridging cultural differences and adjusting Dutch products to the Colombian horticultural reality is already a challenge on its own.
Target groupThe mission will be focused on both flower and vegetable-fruit production, all in greenhouses. The trade mission as such will be organized with a minimum of 10 companies and a maximum of 30 companies.
ProgramMarch 16 and 17 will be dedicated to field visits. Each visit will be concluded by a match make event in which we aim to bring the Dutch companies in contact with their most relevant potential contacts within each company to be visited.
On March 18, growers, (potential) distributors, suppliers, sales companies, government representatives and other relevant sector representatives from all over the country will be invited to participate in seminars, match make events and workshops in Bogota.
CostsParticipation to this trade mission costs 1500 Euro. Dutch participants are eligible to apply for mission vouchers via RVO NL. For more information on the conditions to obtain a voucher, please consult http://www.rvo.nl/subsidies-regelingen/missievouchers-sib.
