India: Chief Minister dedicates training centre and seed processing unit to farmers, urges them to shift to organic farming

Elated with the development and cultivation of various fruit and vegetables at the centre for excellence for agriculture, chief minister Vasundhara Raje urged the farmers to shift to organic farming. She urged them to develop organic farms and gradually avoid the excessive use of chemicals as there is much awareness among the users on the ill effects of the fertilizer produced crops.

Addressing a gathering here while dedicating the training centre and seed processing unit at the centre for excellence here on Tuesday, Raje said that she was feeling happy to see olive cultivation has touched new heights.

"I remember during 2005 when we had started developing it most of the plants were too short and people were making mockery of our Isreal visit. Those who were ridiculing the idea of cultivating the crops in minimal resources and with scientific techniques are getting olive plant from our nursery now," Raje said.
