Australia-Africa Plant Biosecurity Partnership kicked off
The union will address plant pest and disease problems that hinder agricultural exports and threaten food and income security.
Sub-Saharan Africa and Australia face significant threats to their economies, environment and communities from plant pests and diseases.
Two workshops were held last week in Nairobi, Kenya, with biosecurity specialists and representatives from African nations, funded by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research and organised by a consortium led by the Australian Plant Biosecurity Cooperative Research Centre, the Crawford Fund and CSIRO.
