US (PA): Peppers recalled at Giant Food Stores due to possible salmonella contamination

Giant Food Stores has removed some of its store-brand hot peppers from shelves because of the potential for Salmonella contamination, the company said in a news release on Wednesday.

The removal of Giant Serrano, Anaheim, Red Cherry Hot and Finger Hot Peppers is in line with a voluntary recall from Bailey Farms Inc., according to the release.

Customers who have purchased the peppers should throw them away and take the receipt to Giant for a refund.

No illnesses were associated with the product at the time of the recall, according to the release.
