Organic producers urged to apply for new Glastir scheme

Organic producers are being reminded by NFU Cymru that they need to apply for the new Glastir Organic Scheme if they wish to receive financial support from Welsh Government from 2015 onwards.

Support will be available to both existing organic producers and those converting land from conventional farming practices to organic however, farmers will not be transferred automatically into this new scheme from the Organic Farming Scheme (OFS) and they must apply.

Glastir Organics has an online application process which will be open from 1 October to 29 October 2014 with contracts starting from 1 January 2015. The application can be accessed via the RPW Online service.
