US (WI): Greenhouse at JHS dedicated

The assistant state Superintendent of Schools commended the Jefferson community and the school district for committing to excellence in school-to-career education as she helped to dedicate the new Jefferson High School greenhouse Sunday.

Sheila Briggs, assistant superintendent of schools for the Wisconsin State Department of Public Instruction (DPI), said the DPI wants every child to graduate from school career- and college-ready.

Facilities like this one, paired with strong support from the business community, are a hallmark of excellence in education, she said, and will help the Jefferson district meet the DPI’s goal.

The greenhouse dedication Sunday afternoon drew a good crowd of school officials, local agriculture professionals, parents, students and other supporters from the community.
