VDH building 2.5 ha plastic greenhouse with cabrio roof
VDH Sustainable Greenhouse Solutions is currently building a 2.5 ha plastic greenhouse on the highest technical level within the plastic greenhouse market. This greenhouse that will be used for growing young vegetable plants is carried out with a so called cabrio roof which also offers a rainposition.
The rainposition arranges that one half of the roof can sink underneath the other half. When it's raining outside, with this solution ventilation can still take place without the risk of drips falling on the sensitive young plants. When the roof is fully opened, with help of Lock Turbo Logic motors, the entire roof can be closed within 70 seconds. The roof covering with high-grade self-cleaning ETFE films guarantees a light transmittance of approx. 93% and almost 100% UV. The ETFE films has a life-time of nearly 20 years. By using a double layer screen and the walls cladded with UV open 16 mm policarbonate sheets, a high grade of energy saving is also a fact.
