US (VA): Tomato season underway in Dublin
It took only a few months, and now tens of thousands of tomatoes in Dublin are ready for harvesting
Red Sun Farms is growing hydroponic tomatoes inside its high-tech greenhouse off Route 100.
Red Sun is a subsidiary of a Mexican corporation that continues building a 850 thousand square foot greenhouse- that's about 350 ranch-size homes.
"We've harvested about six thousand pounds of tomatoes yesterday and today we'll double that. Next week, we'll quadruple that. So we'll get into high production values next week," said Jay Abbott.
Managers tell us in a few more weeks, they'll start harvesting tons of organic tomatoes as well.
