Kenya: Meeting on EU regulations for exporters
The meeting graced by Ministry of Agriculture PS Sicily Kariuki discussed the interventions and actions taken by KEPHIS in dealing with interceptions at the EU market due to harmful organisms, defective documentations and maximum residue levels in about five products from Kenya. Players throughout the value chain including freighting agents and couriers deliberated on their roles highlighting areas for teamwork to improve the current systems in place.
It was gratifying to note that no interceptions have been recorded in September to date.
Kenya is among the leading exporters of agricultural products to various international markets including EU.
