US (CA): Nursery Association hosts Folsom Fall Garden Festival

Mark your calendars for the second annual Folsom Fall Garden Festival, which will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on September 27. The event is free and open to the public.

The Southeast Louisiana Nursery Association is hosting this unique festival, which provides the opportunity to buy plants right from the growers.

The association is comprised of growers from St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Washington parishes. This year, a few Mississippi nursery owners have opted to participate, as well.

According to Pat Newman of Folsom Nursery, being able to talk directly to the grower allows the customer to learn more about plants and the optimum conditions for planting.

"This event gives gardeners the opportunity to talk directly to the person who has grown the material, knows the best conditions for planting and what each plant requires to look its best," Pat Newman said.
