The activities at Geothermie De Lier, VB Project's eighth geotermal project, are progressing well. VB Projects, part of VB Group, is responsible for the above ground installation. After a long period of preparations and a drill process with two positive tests, the floor was released by KCA Duetag and VB Projects could start directly with the construction of the pump compartment and the installation of the technical systems.
They started by drilling the anchors and supplying the steel. After that they made the steel construction and placed the exchangers. These exchangers will provide heat for 47 hectares.
De Lier will start the test run in the first week of October. The intention is that the two horticulture companies who started this project during the new growing season, Harting Holland and A. de Bruijn & Zn, will be able to operate completely on the geothermal energy provided by the pumps.
