Saratov region in Russia to increase greenhouse vegetables production
The Ministry of Agriculture in the Saratov region has discussed the increase in the production of greenhouse vegetables.
As reported by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Alexander Solovyev, the greenhouses in the region occupy an area of 89.7 hectares. This year, it is planned to produce more than 27 000 tonnes of greenhouse vegetables. In order to ensure the consumption of 15 kg of greenhouse vegetables per capita, it is necessary to produce 37 500 tonnes.
It is to be noted that the Ministry of Agriculture develops target programs for 2014-2016, aimed at increasing the production of greenhouse vegetables.
