AU: PCA ask you to fill out survey to streamline and make relevant the greenhouse building process
Protected cropping structures such as greenhouses and grow structures (G/GS’s) do not currently have their own construction codes and therefore rely on general design and construction practices specified in Australian Standards, National Construction Codes and State/Local Government regulation. A key concern for the protective cropping sector is that the current building codes applied to G/GS construction are not applicable and do not satisfactorily deal with this class of structure. Achieving regulatory compliance for G/GS can become a large economic burden when required to adhere to, for example, building egress and fire regulatory requirements.
That's why Protected Cropping Australia (PCA) asks all PCA greenhouse growers and greenhouse manufacturers to fill out their survey. The ultimate goal is to streamline and make relevant the greenhouse building process, so it is straight forward when you approach the local council for permits.
The anticipated outcomes for this project are to provide guidelines that will reduce cost of compliance for construction of G/GS’s and provide a consistent building approval approach across Australia.
