US (MN): Senator Klobuchar visits sustainable farm in Silver Bay

According to northlandsnewscenter.com, a one of a kind greenhouse in Silver Bay has caught the attention of U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar.

Sen. Klobuchar toured Victus Aquaponics, a sustainable green house that uses recycled rain water and nutrients from fish to grow fresh produce.

The greenhouse grows strawberries, lettuce, peppers, and an assortment of herbs. The vegetables get distributed to several Northland restaurants.

Klobuchar says businesses like this one are important for sustainability. "It is a story of Minnesota, sustainability and new ideas. I think it's incredible that it literally can pay for itself now because of the fact that they have been producing so many fish and so many vegetables," said the Senator.

Aquaponics has been up and running for a year and a half.
