Netherlands: IDC robotics organizes sector-wide event
From July to September 2014, IDC robotics will most likely be on everybody’s mind. The platform, which is based in Demokwekerij Westland, opens its doors for an event where mechatronics and robotics are central. The hosts will provide insight into the possibilities of robotics and allow growers to identify opportunities.
Platform
IDC robotica is a platform for greenhouses in which the initiation, organization, encouragement, development and facilitation of robotics is central. Demokwekerij Westland, TNO and TU Delft - as initiators – are working together with growers and (technical) suppliers on new knowledge and techniques, which should lead to efficiency, effectiveness and / or cost reduction in nurseries.
Event
The mapping of needs and labour issues of growers is an important first step. Similarly, the identification of the technical possibilities (within and outside the sector) and developments have been initiated and surveys are underway. IDC robotics has organized this event. It takes three months, is a continuous, but also changing exhibition of technical capabilities, highlighting various aspects of robotics and receiving many growers groups.
Visiting
If you have questions, ideas or suggestions, or like to visit the event, please contact us through info@demokwekerij.nl or call 0174-385600 and ask for Roy Wubben.
