Belgium: Cummins installs CHP at Desmet Greenhouse

The energy service contract with Cummins Power Generation allows tomato grower Desmet to lower energy costs without investing in the equipment. Through this solution, Cummins delivers the greenhouse heating and electricity at a contractual price while eliminating the capital cost of ownership for Desmet.

Lower natural gas prices in North America have made conditions favourable for CHP adoption in the commercial greenhouse industry. The benefits to greenhouse growers include the increased energy efficiencies, crop yields and profits.
