UK: HDC seeks new Chair to lead horticulture board
HDC, the horticulture division of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB), is seeking an individual to Chair its strategic activity and drive commercial outcomes for the horticulture sector.
The position, which will see the successful candidate take up the role of board member of AHDB and Chair for the Horticulture Sector Advisory Board (HDC) occurs at a significant time as the organisation responds to the global challenges facing the farming and food sectors over the coming decade.
The role will be jointly responsible for ensuring AHDB is a resilient and high performing body whilst also demonstrating an in depth understanding of the horticulture sector, including current issues facing the industry for HDC.
The new AHDB Board member will replace Neil Bragg, the HDC’s outgoing Chairman who has served horticulture through his role at AHDB for the past seven years.
Candidates with a passion for the horticulture industry in Great Britain, and a desire to ensure that levy payers get the best value for money from AHDB are sought. To apply and find out more about the role currently available please visit the Cabinet Office website here.
The closing date for all applications is : 02 July 2014. Successful applicants will be expected to start in October 2014.
