Photanol began producing lactic acid, but now also develops flavours and fragrances. Lensink: "We use bacteria in combination with DNA. We want to make the best possible quality end products. This allows us to keep production in the Netherlands instead of moving abroad for more sunlight. Many Dutch greenhouses are empty, and thus perfect for our research."
