"Hortiflorexpo IPM Beijing emphasised its significance as an important horticultural fair in China"

For the third time already, the world's premier horticultural fair IPM ESSEN and the Chinese plant fair Hortiflorexpo jointly staged China's most important and largest fair for the green sector - Hortiflorexpo IPM. Satisfied exhibitors, lively national participation as well as a high visitor quality characterised the trade fair which, according to the cycle, took place in Peking on April 23 - 26. On a net area of over 23,000 square metres, 427 exhibitors from 26 countries introduced their products and services from the Plants, Technology, Floristry and Garden Features sections to the trade public. For the first time, it was this year possible to use a hall built specifically for this event and to rent out the outdoor site. A total of 18,567 visitors from 49 countries came into the Beijing Exhibition Center - a plus of around twelve percent in comparison with the last Hortiflorexpo IPM Beijing.

"Hortiflorexpo IPM Beijing took place in an environment with strong economic growth. Our exhibitors are enthusiastic about the high quality of the visitors and are reporting new contacts and outstanding business transactions. This emphasises that Hortiflorexpo IPM was able to strengthen and consolidate its position as China's most important horticultural fair. Our particular thanks go to our partner, the China Flowers Association, for the successful cooperation," according to Oliver P. Kuhrt, Chairman and CEO of Messe Essen GmbH, and Egon Galinnis, Managing Director of Messe Essen GmbH.

International Cooperative Booths

A lot of companies used Hortiflorexpo IPM Beijing in order to present their innovations to an international public within the framework of cooperative booths. In addition to France, the Netherlands and Taiwan, Germany was also represented with a national pavilion. This was organised by Interessenvertretung der deutschen Industrie für den Gartenbau e.V. (INDEGA - "Association Representing the Interests of the German Horticultural Industry").

Convincing Supporting Programme

The visitors showed that they were enthusiastic about the supporting programme at this year's Hortiflorexpo IPM Beijing. On the day before the fair, a total of 30 international exhibitors and visitors already took part in visits to nearby horticultural businesses and gained detailed insights into the flower market and horticultural technology in China. The seminars accompanying the fair, the "Greenhouse, Cultivation and Innovation Forum" as well as the forums entitled "Ecological Civilisation and the Beauty of China" and "Application of Electrostatic Devices in Irrigation Systems" met with a great deal of acclaim, just like the floristic demonstrations where florists from Germany showed flowery trends of the season in live displays.

Next Dates

According to the cycle, the next Hortiflorexpo IPM will take place in Shanghai on April 22 - 24, 2015, for the first time in the Shanghai New International Exhibition Center. By alternating between Peking (in the even years) and Shanghai (in the odd years) as the venues, Hortiflorexpo takes account of its objective of portraying the horticultural markets in both South and North China. A programme of visits is being planned for next year as well.
