Russia: Production increases in Belgorod
According to the department of economic development in Russia's Belgorod, the greenhouse vegetable production at the horticultural area of "Severny" will be about 3 thousand tonnes next year.
The project of the horticultural are in Belgorod which started in 2010. The investments amounted to more than 13.8 million Euro. To date, the construction of the last greenhouse project is in its final stage. However, the first batch of cucumbers was already grown in June and at present the complex is preparing to plant tomato seedlings. Vegetables are grown here with the use of Dutch hydroponic technology.
As well as this, another greenhouse project is being carried out in the region. The "Belgorye Greenhouses", opened in June this year, have already grown and sold more than 1.6 thousand tonnes of vegetables.
