US: Purdue to showcase LEDs at Open House

Purdue University will host an open house to showcase its latest research on light emitting diode (LED) technology being conducted in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture. Visitors can see the latest in LED floriculture and high-wire tomato LED research being conducted and they will have the opportunity to see supplemental and sole-source (multilayer chamber) LED lighting of plugs, LED photoperiodic lighting of annuals, end of production LED lighting to enhance foliage color, and tower intra-canopy supplemental LED lighting of tomatoes.

The open house will take place from 1 until 5 p.m. in the university's horticulture greenhouse located at the corner of Marsteller and Harrison streets on Purdue's West Lafayette, Ind. campus.
