A Kenyan grower in Nyandarua County has been nabbed growing Bhang (cannabis) in a greenhouse. The cannabis was discovered in the state of the art greenhouse where tomatoes were also being grown. Incidentally, last year CID officers raided a farm in the same area and discovered poppy plant which is used to manufacture heroin. On Thursday morning, regular and administration police officers raided one of the leading farms where they discovered the drugs.
The owner of the greenhouse said a friend requested to lease him a section of the greenhouse to grow some flowers. He was shocked to learn that it was cannabis.
Senior government officers who visited the vast farm expressed their concern over an increase in cannabis growing in the area with many farmers planting it in greenhouses.
