Netherlands: Rijk Zwaan demo days come to a close

For the past seven weeks the Rijk Zwaan facility in Fijnaart, The Netherlands, has been hosting the annual international demo days. Thursday was the last opportunity to visit the open field demo this year, but the site remained busy even on the final day.

“The open field demo in Fijnaart was originally intended to run only until 25 October but, because a number of interested parties wanted to visit during the following week, we extended the demo for a few days,” says trial field coordinator Arno van Oers. “We discuss each customer’s particular needs with them first and then take them on a tour of the field. As well as talking about the varieties themselves, we also cover all manner of other topics ranging from the growing process to sales and marketing. By working together to choose the right approach, we mutually help each other to improve our levels of knowledge – and that’s something we consider to be particularly important.”

“We have received extremely positive feedback from visitors from all over the world,” continues Arno. “The field was in good condition, thanks in part to the favourable weather we’ve been having. The new demo room enabled us to extend a warm welcome to our visitors over tea or coffee. We want to ensure that every visitor leaves here feeling positive about the demo, and we’ve noticed that our personal approach is highly valued among our visitors.”
